ON THE RADIO : 1. "NILAAN SAAR" (A 32 episodes Radio
Melodrama) about
a young girl working as a maid in senegalese family in
Dakar,
the capital of Sénégal. The show won an Award
("Laurier d'Or")
from RTS1 in December 2001
* Maam Daour Wade is also the "Kadima literary Prize
2002 winner"(Organized by Agence Inter-gouvernementale
de la Francophonie-56 countries)every other two years.
The title of his book is"Les Restes des fils
d'Adam"(French)or "Ndesiti doomi Aadama"(Wolof)meaning
"The leftovers of the sons of Adama"a bilingual book
Published in 2004 by Mons in Belgium (116pages)
*Maam Daour has made numerous documentary films for
NGO's established in Sénégal or abroad. Having been
introduced to Organic Agriculture in the Usa he made a
short documentary film,"The Regenerative Agricultural
Path" for the Rodale Institute in Kutztown
Pennsylvania-Usa in 1996 with Anthony Rodale, son of
the late Bob Rodale.
Maam Daour is also the winner of the 1993 UNCF
Children's Best Book Prize of the Dakar International
Book Fair (FILDAK), shared with Veronique Tadjo, an
Ivorian writer
"Léebi Wolof" (A collection of 25 Wolof Stories)
He published a collection of 500 traditional Wolof
proverbs.
With his Wolof books, mainly stories (tradional and
modern ones)
Maam Daour is contributing to the literacy effort by
providing a cheap reading material for new
learners(Reading and writing)of the Wolof
language-Spoken in West Africa and mainly in Sénégal
Money earned from the selling of my books published in
foreign languages will be used to make better reading
books for new learners.
